About
Zobayer Ahmed completed his PhD in Economics at Selcuk University, Turkiye in June 2024. Earlier, he completed a BSS (Hon's) and MSS in Economics from Shahjalal University of Science & Technology. Later, he achieved Master of Development Studies (MDS) from the University of Dhaka. He started his career as a professional researcher in Unnayan Shamannay, a civil society think-tank founded by Prof. Dr. Atiur Rahman, former governor of the central bank of Bangladesh. After that, he started his teaching career at Sylhet International University.
So far, he has published research articles in various journals indexed in SCOPUS and Web of Science. He also has experience as a reviewer of journals published by Plosone, Springer, Elsevier and Emerald. He also occasionally writes in social media and newspapers. Apart from teaching and research, Mr. Ahmed has experience in leadership, fundraising, debating, volunteering, and coordinating. For his excellent academic performance, he received scholarships and awards from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, Turkish Government, YTB Research Award, CRT publication award etc.
He has recently joined as one of the editors of the Bangladesh Journal of Integrated Thought (BJIT).
Mr. Ahmed attended various conferences both at home and abroad. He has visited India, Nepal, Turkey, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia so far.
